    With over two decades in the food and beverage sector, Elphin Murren brings a depth of practical knowledge and a principled approach to hospitality. His journey through the industry, from leading teams in reputable establishments to optimizing operations for renowned venues, speaks to his dedication and hands-on expertise.

    At the respected Landmarc Restaurant by Marc Murphy, Elphin served as a private events captain, where he played a significant role in its day-to-day successes. His dedication to service and attention to detail were foundational to the restaurant's reputation.

    Moving on, Elphin took charge of the wine and beverage program at Gerber Group’s Kingside restaurant within the Viceroy Hotel. His responsibilities here further expanded his knowledge, especially in pairing beverages with culinary offerings.

    When the iconic Campbell’s Apartment, nestled inside the architectural marvel that is Grand Central, beckoned for a revamp, Elphin was tapped for the role. As the General Manager, he showcased his acumen in not just leading but innovating every operational facet of the legendary space. With a focus on smooth operations, he was instrumental in maintaining the prestige of this iconic venue.

    A notable facet of Elphin's expertise is drawn from his hands-on experience in crafting functional venues. Being part of the opening teams for venues such as 12 Stories, Kingside, The Roof, The Campbell Bar, Mr. Purple, and Albert’s, he collaborated with architects and general contractors to translate blueprints into practical, functional designs. This ensured an efficient and seamless service environment, all while navigating the intricate compliance requirements set by FDNY, DOB, and DOHMH.

    But perhaps what sets Elphin apart is his innate ability to visualize, innovate, and bring to life restaurant concepts from the ground up. His tenure as Operations Manager for Sleeping Giant Hospitality stands as a testament to this. Here, Elphin championed multiple properties, immersing himself right from the embryonic Phase 1 concepts, through to establishing robust opening processes that ensured seamless and premium service delivery.

    Elphin's legacy is not just limited to managing or operating restaurants; it's about building them, crafting their very essence from a mere idea to a tangible, thriving entity. This comprehensive journey through the multifaceted realms of the hospitality world has provided him with unparalleled insights, which he now brings to the fore with HYPE, alongside partner Tom Grant.
